After becoming obsessed with the mysterious life cycle of the eel, Western was inspired by the second, translucent phase of their life cycle - where the young creatures drift unseen through the ocean like strands of glass. The project name ‘Glass Eel’ captures a sense of dislocation, fragility, and survival in uncertain environments
